Historical Version s – view previous versions of standard. This specification covers cold-rolled, high-carbon strip.
The strip shall be furnished cold rolled spheroidized annealed, soft annealed, intermediate hardness, or full hard, as specified. The heat or cast analysis shall conform to that specified requirement.
Hardness test and bend test shall be made to conform to the requirements specified. This abstract is a brief summary of the referenced standard. It is informational only and not an official part of the standard; the full text of the standard itself must be referred to for a68 use and application. ASTM does not give any warranty express or implied or make any representation that the contents of this abstract are accurate, complete or up to date.
Strip is classified as product that is 0. The maximum of the specified carbon range is over 0.
ASTM A / AM – 17 Standard Specification for Steel, Strip, High-Carbon, Cold-Rolled
It is furnished in the following types as specified:. It is normally produced to give the lowest maximum Rockwell hardness for each grade. It is produced wstm a maximum Rockwell hardness. It is produced to specified Rockwell hardness ranges, the maximum being higher than obtained for the annealed type. It is produced to minimum Rockwell hardness requirements, which vary with grade, microstructure and gauge.
ASTM A / AM – 12 Standard Specification for Steel, Strip, High-Carbon, Cold-Rolled
Full hard can be produced with either a pearlitic or spheroidized microstructure or a mixture of both. The minimum hardness should be established between the consumer and the producer. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system aatm be used independently of the other.
Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard. The metric portions of the tables herein list permissible variations in dimensions and mass see Note 1 in SI metric units.
Standard Specification for Steel, Strip, High-Carbon, Cold-Rolled
The values listed are not exact conversions of the values axtm in the inch-pound tables but instead are rounded or rationalized values. The term weight is used when inch-pound units are the standard.
However, under SI the preferred term is mass. Referenced Documents purchase separately The documents listed below are referenced within the subject standard but are not provided as part of the standard.
