Nov ce, Erika Chia rated it it was amazing Shelves: I felt segao author did a decent job portraying the Jewish and Catholic faiths. Maybe I’m biased because I know so few pious people in real life, so the characters and their storylines seemed really far-fetched. Showing of 1 reviews. This ds is one of my favorite of all times. What I loved in the book is that each character tries to run away from his or her identity, eventually comes to terms with it.

Deborah and Tim have been my OTP for many, many years and I just wish there had been a sequel – even just a novella or prologue. It was a good and interesting story, though.

Segal has a talent for weaving together stories of perfect timing and serendipity.

Acts of Faith

I learned a lot about the Jewish culture in reading this book, as well as how and why it is not the same as the Jewish faith. But if it were not so important, why would we erih put on earth?

I felt Segal needed to do a better job showing Tim’s devotion to his faith, and that’s the reason why he went into the priesthood and continued on for many years. Like I mentioned in my review for Doctors, the elements of his books which put me off them remain: May 09, Addy rated it really liked it Shelves: Again, the amount of research Segal undertook in ensuring that fiction did not become fantasy is very impressive.

A daughter who was removed from the house, who later eloped like a rebel from aunt’s house and finally returned home to live the life she always deserved.

I liked how the author showed that our background has a profound effect on us later in life, even if we try hard to submerge it, as Daniel did. The scholarly son of a great rabbi, he is destined to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Abandoned at birth, he finds a home–and a dazzling career–within the Catholic Church. Yet the dilemmas the characters each face identify the different types of love and the joys and duties that go along with them.

Acts of Faith by Erich Segal

It was an enlightening read, with regards to the Jewish culture and history, and it had a lot of insights into Fee. Product details Paperback Publisher: To ask other readers questions about Acts of Faithplease sign up.

I love all Erich Segal’s books, and this one was great too, although more low-key.

Such a great book!!! As it was, I had the impression that Tim just “fell” into the collar because there were no other alternatives for him in life. So you see, the plot is thick and entangled.

Timothy’s struggle with celibacy has been described very well in the reich, the love which was suppressed under the name of priesthood finally springs to give the character’s life a perfect ending.

This is perhaps the author’s best work, a rendering that is hauntingly beautiful and well-balanced. Erich Wolf Segal was an American author, screenwriter, and educator.
